HKJJA organises Internet of Things jewellery technology seminar

Hong Kong Jewellery and Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA) invited Myndar to deliver a seminar on jewellery technology on 27 August 2015 at the Association’s office. The topic of the seminar is “IoT – utilise innovation to improve operation efficiency”. It attracted a number of jewellery company representatives who were especially interested in and inspired by the product demonstration session that followed the seminar.

Chief executive officer Matthew Man first gave an introduction of the application and advantages of IoT (internet of things). Then he went on to demonstrate how their intelligence products could assist jewellers to analyse and monitor sales, thereby improving overall efficiency by reducing human error and saving on resources.

The product label designed produced by Myndar appeared just like any ordinary labels. The label contains a chip that stores product information such as name, model and design that can be used with specific mobile devices connected via Bluetooth. Users can then conduct stocktaking, transaction, tracking or even searching in the shop. Users only have to pay for the corporate license of the software and purchase or rent the specific devices in order to use this service. Myndar could also provide data analysis services and customise software and product labels according to users’ needs.

Attendants were inspired by the seminar while the speaker welcomed any visit to their office in Science Park where more devices could be showcased and demonstrated.

Myndar was established in 2009 and won numerous awards in 2014 and 2015, including 2014 Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Innovation and Creativity Grand Award and International Inventions, Geneva - Gold Award.
