Diacore purchases 204.36-carat yellow diamond

Diacore bought the 204.36-carat fancy intense yellow diamond Dancing Sunat Christie’s New York Magnificent Jewels auction. The diamond was reported to have purchased for US$495million.

 

To date, the yellow stone is the largest polished diamond mined in North America. It was the top lot of the sale. It was mined from the Diavik Diamond Mine in Canada four years ago and cut from a piece of rough weighing 552.74 carats. 

The company's previous purchase of large rare diamonds including the 203.04-carat De Beers Millennium Star and the 59.60-carat flawless Pink Star.
