Alrosa garners US$10.3m in HK

9-7-2019

Alrosa auctions 112 rough diamonds weighing 1,910 carats for US$10.3 million in Hong Kong. Out of 63 companies from Hong Kong, India, Israel, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates and Russia, 23 were recognised as winning bidders.

“Despite the challenging situation in the diamond market today, the good results of the past auction confirm that the Asian market has a stable interest in our products. Hong Kong is one of the most important centres of international diamond trade, so we regularly organize rough diamond sales here,” said Evgeny Agureev, director of the United Selling Organization Alrosa.

Alrosa has scheduled three auctions in the city this year. Two of them fetched a total revenue of more than US$20 million. The next auction will be held alongside September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair as well as the second True Colours auction for coloured polished diamonds.
