Breitling to skip Baselworld

17-4-2019

Swiss watchmaker Breitling will skip the next Baselworld and is on the fence about coming back in 2021. CEO Georges Kern turned up his thumb to the dwindling show’s reform and explained the exit is owing to the 2012 edition which will hold from 30 April- 5 May “cannot be reconciled with our scheduling”.

The company will focus on its Breitling Summit. The platform allows Breitling to be “flexible regarding where and when we inform our target groups about new brand developments and product launches” as they could interact personally with its customers, media representatives, sales partners, and collectors.

Breitling is another big-name brand to exit after tens of brands jumped the ship while Rolex and Patek Philippe etc are here to stay. Rolex and Tudor confirmed to take over Breitling’s space.
