DD creates all lab-grown-diamond ring for 10th anni

11-2-2019

Dutch Diamond Technologies (DD) has created a lab-grown diamond ring ‘Project D’ (photo 1) for its 10th anniversary. “The ring was made from a large piece of a 155-carat rough CVD lab-grown diamond which was polished using laser cutting and traditional techniques into a ring which has 133 facets,” HRD Antwerp, who graded the Project D said. The ring in colour E with no fluorescence was grown in Germany, cut in the Netherlands and graded by HRD Antwerp in Belgium.

Project D is the third ring which created from a single diamond. Shawish was the first jeweller to release a ring made from a natural diamond in 2011, followed by a lab-grown diamond ring (photo 2) created by Jonathan Ive, Apple’s chief design officer and renowned industrial designer Marc Newson for a fund raising auction.
