Tracr, the blockchain platform developed by De Beer has appointed Jim Duffy, who was numerous tech-start-ups’ leader and took leadership roles in technology companies, as general manager to lead the next phase of the platform’s development. “Jim brings extensive corporate and technology start-up experience that will be crucial to the continued development of Tracr,” Neil Ventura, De Beers’ executive vice president for strategy and innovation said.
Over US$100 million worth of roughs have been registered on the platform since the launch of the pilot in January this year. Tracr will focus on bringing new partners into the pilot program. Five leading diamond manufacturers are currently involved in the pilot, such as Signet Jewelers.
