Chaumet presents Parisian elegance

11-7-2019

Following the success of the Chaumet exhibitions in Beijing in 2017 and Tokyo in 2018, Chaumet is set to stage an exhibition entitled ‘Chaumet in Majesty: Jewels of Sovereigns Since 1780’ at Grimaldi Forum in Monaco from 12 July to 28 August. The jewellery exhibition will be separated into six distinct themes.

250 jewellery pieces, centres on tiaras, by Chaumet over the past 240 years will be on display. They were brought together from collections of 15 museums and 40 private lenders such as Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. Some pieces have never before shown to the public including the tiara created in 1934 and entrusted to Cartier, then once sold to Edwina Mountbatten, Countess Mountbatten of Burma.

Except for a rich panoply of tiaras, there are uncommon bejewelled accessories belt made in gold, natural pearls and onyx and Bayadère necklace set with natural pearls, sapphire cabochon and diamonds.
