Swiss watchmaker Jaquet Droz opened a new boutique last Friday in Hong Kong.
The new store located at Harbour City was inaugurated by the brand’s CEO Christian Lattmann, managing director of the Swatch Group (Hong Kong) Kevin Rollenhagen, vice president of Jaquet Droz Hong Kong & Macao Sylvia Yau and local actor Moses Chan.
New creations on display at the event included Magic Lotus Automaton (photo) which features the grace and serene beauty of a Zen garden with an exceptionally long animation lasting more than four minutes.
Established in 1738, Jaquet Droz has a long relationship with the Chinese royalty. For instance, in Qing dynasty, Emperor Qianlong translated the name of ‘Jaquet Droz’ into Chinese since then it becomes the official Chinese name of the brand.
