14-2-2019

Alrosa exhibits its polished coloured diamonds, starring by its 14.83 carats oval shape pink (photo 1), the Russian miner’s largest pink diamond. The stone was unearthed from its Ebelyakh mine and cut from a 27.85 carats rough. Its largest pink diamond prior to the 14.83-carat-stone weighed 3.86 carats. “I am sure this diamond will be the most expensive in the history of Russia’s gem-cutting industry,” said Alrosa deputy CEO Yury Okoemov.

The largest stone among the showcased collection is a honey yellow diamond (photo 2) weighing 20.69 carats, cut from a 34.17 rough. The displayed diamonds will soon be transferred to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) for certification.
