As the leading jewellery event in North America, JCK Las Vegas 2017 ended on 8 June bringing together over 30,500 industry professionals from the globe for business, inspiration, education and networking, hosted over 2,178 exhibitors and welcomed 19,200 retailers. LUXURY, JCK’s high-end event opened by invitation, boasted 248 brands and recorded an increase in attendance with 2,600 retailers.
This year’s weeklong event was shifted from its traditional day pattern to accommodate several hundred of the exhibitors who observed the Jewish Shavuot holiday. Although attendance was slightly down over the previous year, initial research shows transactions were well ahead of the last version, said show organiser Reed Jewelry Group.
According to the organiser, buyers seeking the latest trends experienced JCK’s all-encompassing collections of jewellery, timepieces, services, and gemstones from AGTA GemFair™ in addition to a few new neighbourhoods on the show floor. The ‘Security Neighorhood’, in partnership with the Jewelers Security Alliance, featured a range of protection-based vendors such as anti-fraud software and up-to-date camera technologies, while the new ‘Retail Experience’ offered a complete business experience. LUXURY also provided a design component with its new ‘Design @ LUXURY’ section.
Besides, the show also arranged a lineup of sessions at ‘JCK Talks’, which included retailer roundtables featuring peer-to-peer sharing of real-life experiences, practical solutions and informal discussions about the current and future business of retail. Highlight celebratory networking events included the Design Center Editor’s Choice Awards, the Design Center Top 50 Retailer Awards, JCK Rocks the Bowl event, etc.
JCK will return to its previous day pattern in 2018, taking place from 1 to 4 June at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. AGTA GemFair™ will be open from 31 May to 4 June 2018. As previously announced, JCK will join forces in 2018 with the Palm Beach Show Group to debut the Las Vegas Estate Jewelry & Watch pavilion located on the JCK Las Vegas show floor where fine jewellery and watch dealers from around the world will showcase their one-of-a-kind pieces and offer a momentous shopping experience to the trade.
