Shanghai centre thinks global

Zhang Tiejun, founder of Shanghai Zhang Tie Jun Industry Group, a listed fei cui company in China, said: “When the per capita GDP exceeds US$3,000 as well as the pace of urbanisation and industrialisation accelerates, the consumption level will pump up and spark the local’s interest in jewellery and the associated culture.” Zhang invested 298 million yuan in building Shanghai International Brand Jewelry Center in 2010, covering 120,000 square meters, as a jewellery wholesale, sourcing and retailing hub to keep up with the gradual increase of per capita income and the improvement of living standards in China. The Center will also organise jewellery workshops, auctions, jewellery brand conferences and exhibitions. Aside from business purposes, the center features jewellery and fei cui carving museum showcasing masterpieces crafted by jewellers across the world. Jewellery and historical relics exchanges and jewellery and art seminars will be held to promote jewellery culture.

Shanghai International Brand Jewelry Center will open in November 2018, and cover a wide spectrum of gemstones and jewellery including jade, ruby, sapphire, tourmaline, cat’s eye, gold, coral and more. Zhang indicated that there are only a handful of large-scale jewellery centres in the market. It is even rarer to see those which sell jewellery from all over the world. The centre’s international jewellery hall groups jewellery worldwide, directly imported from the place of origins. To this end, Zhang has signed cooperation agreements with Gold Uni Jewellery Co, Ltd (Myanmar), Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), Zultanite, etc. Besides, the centre will introduce over 200 local jewellers such as Eastern Gold Jade Co, Ltd, Zbird, Kawa Jewellery, etc. To enhance its competitiveness among the fast-growing e-commerce trend in China, over 1,000 brick-and-mortars of WeChat enterprises will be launched.

To enhance consumer confidence, the centre will undertake a series of stringent inspections of potential partners prior to any cooperation. The centre will continue to carry out the service which is rated as ‘Integrity Building Model Enterprise’ as well as the ‘three commitments’ service. Customers can refund within 10 days, repair or replace a purchase within a year and a lifetime warranty. It aims to become an international jewellery trading centre with integrity and scale.
